dammee.com is the online home of Damii — Ghanaian Draughts. Our mission is simple: give one of West Africa's most beloved board games the modern, competitive online platform it deserves, with the same care that chess and international draughts communities enjoy.
Why we built this
Damii is played passionately across Ghana — in compounds, at lorry stations, outside shops, and in organised clubs. Yet for years there was no dedicated place to play it online. Generic checkers apps get the rules wrong: they use the wrong board orientation, the wrong capture rules, or treat Damii as a reskin of international draughts. It isn't.
We built dammee.com to implement the authentic Ghanaian ruleset — the mirrored 10×10 board, 20 pieces per side, compulsory captures, backward captures by men, flying kings, and the player's freedom to choose between capture sequences — and to wrap it in the features serious players expect: live matchmaking with clocks, skill ratings, replays, puzzles, guided lessons, clubs, and tournaments.
What you can do here
- Play live — rated and casual games with real-time clocks, as a guest or with an account. Open the lobby.
- Learn — the complete rules, interactive lessons, and guides on strategy and history.
- Train — daily puzzles and puzzle rush built from real positions.
- Compete — tournaments with brackets and standings.
- Belong — clubs, challenges with friends, and community leaderboards.
Our commitment to the game
We treat rule fidelity as a product requirement, not an afterthought. Our rules engine is tested against documented Ghanaian play, and we continue to consult experienced players and referees to validate edge cases before rated rules change. Where regional variations exist, we document the convention the server enforces so every rated game is played on a level field.
Who we are
dammee.com is built by a small independent team based in Ghana, combining a love for the game with professional software engineering. The platform is under active development — new lessons, puzzles, and community features ship regularly.
